About GurukrupaMusic School

With God’s grace and Guru’s blessings — a home for Carnatic learning, devotion, and culture since July 2016.

Gurukrupa Music School was founded in July 2016 by the Neyveli DuoSmt. Bhuvana Karthik and Sri. Ram Prasadh Raghavan (siblings).

The school teaches Carnatic Vocal, Carnatic Keyboard, Thevaram, Thiruppugazh, and Bhajans, through in-person and online classes. Many senior students have completed degrees in Carnatic vocal and are also into teaching. Students have won prizes in competitions at state and national levels.They have participated in competitions, won many prizes, and performed kutcheris at prestigious sabhas. Gurukrupa students have performed in groups at temples and respected organisations.The school conducts Thyagaraja Aradhana and Margazhi veedhi bhajan of Thiruppavai and Thiruvembavai every year. Carnatic music is taught holistically so each student imbibes the essence, culture, and values along with music.

Our Guru

Smt. Bhuvana Karthik and Sri. Ram Prasadh Raghavan are siblings from Neyveli, initiated into Carnatic music at the early age of five. They were blessed with initial training from Smt. Radha Kalayanaraman (granddaughter of Brahmasri Papanasam Sivan) and Sri Neyveli Sankar (grandson of Nagarkoil Harihara Iyer).

Smt. Bhuvana Karthik

A software engineer by profession (gold medalist from CEG, Anna University) and a Carnatic music teacher by passion. She completed her MFA in Carnatic vocal and is pursuing the title of Thevara Isai Kalaimani from Annamalai University.She is also a disciple of Smt. Kamala Ramani (disciple of Vid. DK Pattammal and Vid. Nedanuri Krishnamurthy).

A management executive by profession and musician by passion. He has learnt mridangam from Shri Kovai Mani (Mridangam Vidwan) and violin from Smt. Janaki (Violin Vidwan).
